Feds Adopt New Requirements for Automated Phone Calls
Phone broadcasting is a system that enables organizations to simultaneously send an exceptionally large number of pre-recorded messages to hundreds or thousands of people over the phone. It is also known as voice broadcast, voice blast, phone blast, and in the political realm as robo calls.
It is a highly regulated area and commercial autodialers are facing increased federal and state laws that make it more and more difficult to send phone broadcasts . Over 50% of the phone numbers in the United Statesare now on the Do Not Call registry and telemarketers are not permitted to call them. Moreover, new regulations now require call blasters to get written permission from those people they wish to contact.
